I need ideas

My brother just discovered a box of letters that my parents wrote back and forth while they were engaged and after they were married while Dad was in Germany and Mom was here saving money to join him.

I need to know how to preserve these things. I have no clue. I know there are archival quality things out there, but I need suggestions, please!

I found this...

"Buy some archival spray to take the acid out of the original paper pages. It is expensive but in this situation, you'd probably want to spend the money. Buy an archival storage box to hold the letters for posterity. Light Impressions is a great catalog to get this stuff from- it is a photographers/archivists resource. I bet a web search would at least turn up a phone number. (LK)"

It sounds like a plan if the cost is not too great. What you have is a true treasure and would be worth it.

I know you probably want to preserve the actual letters, and for that I have no idea. But one of the first things I would do is scan them and save them to disk. I'm alot of help, aren't I? LOL!

I have no idea how to preserve them, but what a blessing! I was heart broken when my parents told me they had burned all of their love letters...I had been waiting for years for the opportunity to read them!
